Every week, artists gather at McGuffey Art Center to draw, paint and study anatomy from a live figure. Drawn Together exhibits a year of artworks created in community, uplifting the longstanding tradition of drawing from life.
Visual artists of all levels and styles gather to draw, paint, and study the anatomical forms from live models. Whether nude, draped, or clothed, working from the live figure in this way is a longstanding and highly respected tradition that predates the renaissance. Live figure studies are essential for an artist's technical development, and artistic portrayal of human life. The exhibited works include drawings and paintings created during 3-hour sessions, by artists of all levels, with poses varying from 3 minutes to 3 hours.
