Containment, Encaustic collage on canvas

Holding What Time Leaves Behind explores memory, impermanence, and the energetic imprint - a non-material trace - that accumulates on the objects we touch, use, and care for.

My work centers on what I call energetic imprint: a non-material trace—psychic rather than physical—that accumulates through touch, use, and care. While making this body of work, I came to see these imprints as reflections of lived experience: shadows cast over time, mutable memory, and the narratives we construct to shelter longing and fear.

Holding What Time Leaves Behind acknowledges vulnerability, aging, and change as inherent conditions, articulated through fragmented weaving, fragile vessels bound with encaustic medium, collage and assemblage. Raw edges, loose threads, and dangling wires are intentional. They register fragility and uncertainty while also holding traces of connection and shared history.

This body of work marks a shift in my art practice. Each piece began with a felt impulse rather than a predetermined plan. I relied on intuition, allowing the materials to direct the work as structures were built, broken apart, and rebuilt.
