Bridget Atwell: Drawing Boundaries

June 5 - 28, 2026
Opening Reception Friday, June 5, 5:30 - 8:00 pm

Drawing Boundaries showcases Bridget Atwell’s new work featuring dreamy interpretations of interior living spaces, city scenes and landscapes inspired by her eye for the constant push and pull of structure and freedom.

I express my personal interpretation of the juxtapositions of life through vivid color and quick gestural expression in painting and drawing. I mix nature and architecture to create dreamy, figurative abstraction. I revisit my impressions of the places I’ve visited, from my own backyard to world travel. I use a variety of mediums, primarily oil, pastel and pencil on paper, canvas and board. Communication through words can be limited and my art expresses a dazzling and dreamy interpretation of my experiences. My art floats a few steps away from reality. Art has been a consistent solace throughout my life. My deepest interest is in encouraging the unlimited connections between reality, spirituality and paradox. My work combines what I see and what I imagine and it is a reminder of multidimensionality.  I intersect my work in art with health education, yoga and creative consulting. Creativity is an essential component of well-being. I seek to promote freedom and beauty through art.
