In the artist’s words:
My body of work combines found materials and a touch of off-the-wall imagination to express the joy of play and the lure of storytelling. Strange and unique components of each piece are lovingly chosen to investigate themes of imperfection and impermanence and often touch on my despair and my hope. I reference past and present experiences—some embellished, some imaginary.
I become immersed in gluing, wrapping, wiring, drilling, sewing, editing, sorting, nailing, stuffing, fitting, tying, and pinning. It's play, it's fun, and it's never done until it's done.
I hope others will be touched by my work and will take delight in it. My wish is that it will inspire them to make art. For me, it keeps me curious, often makes me laugh, encourages me to take risks, expands my mind and creates healing. This work is vital to my existence - it keeps me alive.
