Flora, Fauna, Flesh and Blood: Photographs by Lauren Doran

In the Sarah B. Smith Gallery:

Lauren Doran’s series Flora, Fauna, Flesh and Blood explores the all-encompassing task of raising children. This undertaking requires all aspects of a parent’s being: emotional, intellectual, spiritual and physical.  Being a part of her children’s lives has led Lauren to examine her own life and values.  She has always held nature and spirituality in high regard but having children has strengthened and deepened this appreciation and connection.

Central Virginia Watercolor Guild
26th Annual Exhibition

Virginia residents submitted images for the show which have been juried by Steve Fleming, artist from Arlington, VA.

“Good art is the result of hard work and dedication. It only happens when the artist finds his or her own story to tell and then learns to do so with his or her own unique language.
I am an artist who works in watercolor oil and acrylic.  For 20 years, I taught at The Art League in Alexandria, Virginia; now I teach private classes and workshops across the country and abroad”.  – Steve Fleming, Juror CVWG
