This body of work illustrates Gulledge's return trip from her Hero’s Journey—a personal vision quest which took her from Charlottesville to New York and beyond. Coming back to Virginia challenged her to return to reality from down the rabbit hole of imagination and implosion, a journey that visually took the form of the rainbow bridge from Nordic mythology. The images depict a transition from suffering to compassion and the beginning the final leg of the journey: freedom to live. This special exhibit at Studio Ix free and open to the public, in conjunction with the Virginia Festival of the Book.
