Come join us for 6th Annual Dia de los Muertos celebration on the Front Lawn of McGuffey Art Center. This is beautiful Mexican tradition where we celebrate the lives of our loved ones who have passed on. Bring photos, flowers or creations, be as artful as you’d like, think of things that are symbols of what your ancestors or loved ones who have passed on enjoyed in life. As you arrive we will have live music, open studios in the building with artists Ofrendas to visit, Taqueria Mi Ranchito Food Truck will be available to nourish you and as we gather each person/family will be given a luminary bag to decorate for the community altar. We will have a community procession to set the intention of remembrance and then dance and celebrate with our loved ones. See our Facebook invite for more info. as it evolves. There is nothing scary about this event. Feel free to decorate your faces and dress up (youtube Dia De Los Muertos and see what pops up)!
