its private main gallery and two floors of unique and changing exhibits,
the McGuffey Art Center can be a backdrop
of creativity for business functions and private gatherings. The Starnes
Classroom offers space for smaller meetings or for catering convenience.
And, if you choose, meander into working studios and mingle with the
artists. Imagine your wedding or other social occasion, your corporate
lecture or seminar inspired from some of our region’s most talented
artists.
The McGuffey Art Center, originally an elementary school dating back
to 1916, and now for over 30 years Charlottesville’s only working
artists’ cooperative, is located in the historic section of the
city only half a block from the Downtown Mall. The building is handi-capped
accessible with a private elevator and has ample private parking.
Gallery Rental Includes:
Main Gallery, First and Second Floor Halls, and Starnes Classroom
Maximum capaciIty: 200 people
Cost: $200/hour with two-hour minimum or $800 per event
Open studios and after-hour rentals available upon request depending
on schedule of events and programming.
