Offered to the public as part of McGuffey’s on-going service to the community of Charlottesville and surrounding counties, our 4 figure drawing sessions per week offer, for $10, the opportunity to draw or paint from a live model.  We provide no instruction and all are welcome to bring drawing materials and join in the fun.  The groups consist of artists of all skill levels - beginners and experienced artists are welcome.  There is no commitment to continue to attend regularly and you may attend any or all of the sessions as you wish.  All sessions are fun, friendly, and supportive.  Ask for a parking permit at the front desk for daytime sessions.. There are easels and chairs, but bring your own drawing materials.

Sunday Afternoons 2 – 5 p.m.  – Long Pose Session Painting and Drawing Group

The Long Pose Painting and Drawing Session for the public meets every Sunday afternoon from 2:00- 5:00. The model fee is $5 per hour for this session. Located in the Starnes Classroom #17 on the 1st floor (and occasionally in Robert Bricker's studio #1 in the South Basement).

You may bring any medium, but please use an odorless solvent if you oil paint. The model will maintain one long pose for the entire session, with breaks. This is an opportunity to really develop your painting or drawing with excellent models in an inspiring and supportive atmosphere.
