This show features the work of six artists who were part of the Incubator Program at McGuffey. The purpose of this program is to promote the progress of six emerging artists per year culminating in a show at McGuffey.
The World Art Exhibit

The World Art Exhibit features drawings by 33 refugees of all ages from eight countries, all of whom now live, work and study in the Charlottesville area. This show is the manifestation of local IRC volunteer Susan Patrick's passion for creating art and helping newcomers adapt to life in the United States.

My linocuts come from an interest in patterns and the energy generated by them, and about the beautiful surfaces created by overlaying translucent and opaque colors As a painter feeling confined by the two dimensional surface, I have expanded the abstraction of organic references into sculpture. In each piece, the line reflects a transition and implied force and movement creating tension between the established boundaries
