Open House!  Saturday April 15th

FREE DEMOS & WORKSHOPS


Join us at McGuffey Art Center with Grove and Flow Yoga lead by Liz Reynolds and Clarence Green from 10am-11:15am followed by a day of demos, workshops, and plein air painting as we kickoff our collaboration celebration with the Tom Tom Founders Festival.

Demos are free and open to the public from 12pm-4pm Artists will be busy creating with a variety of techniques and practices such as printmaking, collage, mixed media, painting, clay, jewelry, fibers, photography, music, dance and more.

McGuffey Artists in Spitzer Art Center's 6x6x30 show

Melissa Malone and Lindsay Heider Diamond  were accepted into the Spitzer Art Center’s annual 6x6x30 show. 24 participating artists created a 6"x6" original work of art every day for 30 consecutive days. The opening reception will be held at  Park Gables Gallery, Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community, located at 1491 Virginia Avenue, Harrisonburg, VA. on Friday, March 3, 5-8pm and the exhibition can be viewed throughout the month of March.  Last year, Over $10,000 of artwork was sold during the exhibition. The exhibition will be juried and awards will be announced during the opening 

 

 

MCGUFFEY INCUBATOR ARTIST WINS TOM TOM BUS COMPETITION

Paul Hostetler, an artist in the Incubator Studio, won the Tom Tom Founders Festival competition to design a wrap for a Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) bus.   The Dinosaur Bus design will appear this Spring.

LEE ALTER's ADULT STUDENTS SHOW, HOTCAKES, OPENING ON FRIDAY FEBRUARY 3RD  

The public is invited to the Opening of Lee Alter's Adult Student Art Show at Hotcakes at Barracks Road from 4-6 pm . Show is up for 6 weeks.

Associate Steve Taylor's solo show at Welcome Gallery opens February 3rd

"Not Made in China", new works by Steve Taylor, opens at New City Art's Welcome Gallery at 114 3rd Street NE.  Opening Reception Friday 2/3 from 5-7:30.
